Just a general discussion as to the best weapon to have as a primary weapon. Keep in mind real world restrictions, such as weight, ammo, etc...

Shotgun with bird shot is the best weapon. True you will not be sniping with it but you don’t have to aim it, just point the boom end towards the zombie and there goes its head.

I'm going to go with an axe. A big one. Like a fire-axe. Has a good edge on it, some weight behind it, and then it has a spike on the back of it!! Doesn't run out of ammo, and I can sharpen it in my spare time. Also, it's multi-purpose! I can use it to bust into houses when I'm foraging for useful shit.

I picked "other" for the poll, because though I like the axe, it is still a bit too heavy for me. I am going with machete and/or sword. I would like to train myself on the 10ft bullwhip and put some barbs at the end of it. Whip it around a walkers head and yank!! Voila! the head comes off and you are still in a safe-ish distance.

Hmmm things you think about at work. Chep has a very good point about the ammo thing and Lizbo79 has a very good point about the weight. So here you go a modified bat with SPIKES in it. Yes not as practical as an axe but really everyone is zombies or at least most people. There will be a lot of supplies ready for taking, not that survival tactics are not important. Sometimes you won’t be able to get to the bounty and will need to live off the land.

As a primary weapon I would want something with no need for bullets and something the can hit targets at a long distance. I think a high powered crossbow. Retrievable ammo and distance shots. Yup, that's the weapon for me!
